In 1962, the Harrisburg business community recognized the importance of gathering to exchange ideas, information and casual banter. Local leaders began to meet each Tuesday to accomplish this goal. As the group grew in size and stature, it became apparent that a more formal organization should be formed and a regular place to gather identified. “The Tuesday Club” was officially organized at the Penn Harris Hotel, then moved to downtown Harrisburg.
Through the years the club grew and amenities such as a lounge, meeting rooms and a private dining room were rented. In the early years, locations included a club owned building on Market Square, rental space in Strawberry Square and 30 North Third Street and a partnership at Parev Restaurant on Pine Street. In 2001, The Tuesday Club once again became housed in a luxury hotel by moving to the AAA Four Diamond restaurant, The Golden Sheaf at Hilton Harrisburg.
To advance the club's mission by providing new opportunities for business leaders to not only gather and network with each other but to also meet and exchange ideas with elected officials, a decision was made to cease operations of The Tuesday Club and to launch a new club called The Hill Society.*
The Hill Society provides an opportunity to gather in a private setting and build relationships that can advance our Commonwealth for the common good. Services and benefits such as monthly forums, fitness center privileges and hotel facility discounts were added to enhance value. Learn More About How To Join »
